BLACK MARKET

Ever wondered why your ad costs are high, but sales aren't matching up?

Well, you might be a victim of click fraud!

According to eCommerce Fastlane, click fraud happens when people or bots repeatedly click on your ads to drain your ad budget. This means you pay for clicks that aren’t from real customers. 🖱️

Some signs to look out for include:

  • High bounce rates: Visitors leave your site quickly.
  • Low conversion rates: There are lots of clicks but only a few sales.
  • Unusual IP addresses: Many clicks come from the same or odd locations.

📡 Where does click fraud come from?

Click fraud can come from different sources:

  • Click farms: Workers are paid to click on ads.
  • Botnets: Networks of infected computers click on ads automatically.
  • Competitors: Rival businesses click on your ads to waste your money.
  • Ad Fraud: Fake clicks are used to earn money from ad networks.
  • Domain spoofing: Scammers create fake sites to trick advertisers about where their ads appear.
  • Accidental clicks: People sometimes click on ads by mistake.

🛡️ How do you protect your ads?

  • Target your ads carefully by choosing specific locations and times ads to ensure they reach potential customers.
  • Monitor IP addresses. Keep an eye on where clicks are coming from and block suspicious ones to prevent fraudulent activity.
  • Manage your ad budget. Set daily limits and watch your spending to control costs and quickly identify any unusual activity.
  • Use click fraud prevention software. There are different tools that detect and block fake clicks to protect your ad campaigns from fraudulent traffic.

With Prime Day just a few weeks away, spotting click fraud is the key to saving ad budget and ensuring effective marketing. So, stay vigilant and proactive to beat click fraud tactics. 🥊

Walmart Discovered drops summer-themed real-world items on Roblox

ICYMI, Walmart launched Walmart Discovered last April—a feature that allows shoppers to order real-life items directly on Roblox and have them shipped right to their doorsteps. Buyers also get the virtual twin of the item instantly available on Roblox.

However, the available items are still limited. But lo and behold, Retail Technology Innovation Hub reported that Walmart Discovered’s next real-world commerce drop has landed, just in time for summer!

🏖️ Summer-ready goods

Walmart Director Justin Breton highlights that the best part about this drop isn’t just the summer-themed items—it’s that all the real-world items are priced under $10!

  • The items include the Onn Wireless Speaker, Goody Tru Headband, and No Boundaries pouch.
  • Walmart also partnered with three talented Roblox creators: GreenPigXD, Raekaro, and SimplyALemon.
  • Each creator handpicked an item from Walmart and designed a matching virtual twin inspired by their unique styles.

A futuristic ecommerce

This initiative isn’t just about selling—it’s about bridging the gap between virtual inspiration and real-world shopping. Walmart is confident they’re just getting started with this approach.

With promising results from the pilot, Walmart and Roblox are eager to continue testing, learning, and optimizing this innovative real-world commerce offering. 🤝

SELLER REFRESHER

AI is powerful, but humans remain irreplaceable

Marketing has evolved to integrate algorithms (social media), SEO (search engines), and AI technology. But there’s nothing quite like heart-to-heart—why do you think influencer marketing is such a big deal? 👥

An article by media update reinforces the role of the human touch in marketing. Here are the key points you should remember.

  • Need for connection. Our greatest asset (our “unfair” human advantage) is our ability to go above and beyond what’s required just to connect and inspire. Although generative AI can churn content, it can’t (re)create connections.
    • How: Influencers share personal insights and experiences, allowing them to relate to audiences.
  • Authenticity and trust. Influencers build trust by sharing both their perfect and imperfect experiences.
    • How: Engaging with subscribers makes connections feel genuine and authentic.
  • Emotional intelligence. AI can imitate but has yet to replicate the nuances of emotional marketing.
    • How: Influencers stay relevant and impactful by crafting content that can move viewers. Plus, they understand why a trend is trending and why certain issues need attention.

🦾 AI-driven but human-led

AI enhances campaign precision and efficiency. It can also help analyze and make data-driven decisions.

But AI’s operational capabilities can only shine with human creativity, empathy, and intuition

In the end, it’s all about finding a balance. You can let AI drive, but don’t forget that you hold the map to decide where your business will go.
