How the seller community helped a seller who lost 700+ units in shipment

While we’re all waiting for the Prime Big Deals Day, the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale has been serving customers in India with irresistible deals since yesterday. Discounts reach up to 79%, attracting those early gift shoppers.

We don’t know if such deals will also be present on the fall Prime Day, but we’re almost sure there will be some major challenges. The important question now is: Are you ready to beat them and own the event?

  • Handling lost shipments this holiday season 🚚
  • The secret to increasing your margins ⬆️
  • Secure your spot in this thriving Amazon seller community 🪑
  • Holiday sales-boosting tips 🎄

BLACK MARKET

One of the most frustrating challenges sellers face is lost shipments. And with the holidays just around the corner and everyone rushing to send their inventory, you can expect cases of lost or misplaced goods to increase.

Sadly, one seller already lost  735 units even if it’s not the peak season. Here’s the story they posted on the Seller Forums:

💔 An unfortunate series of events

  • The seller shipped a 21.3-lb package containing 735 units to the Amazon warehouse via UPS. They then received a “Delivered” notification, with a warehouse employee signing off the delivery.
  • The shipment sat for 56 days before the status was changed from DELIVERED to CLOSED
  • However, Amazon later reported that they received 0 of the 735 units. They sent a message to OP saying, “Investigation completed – shipment contents counted and confirmed."
  • Since Amazon’s investigation was finalized, OP assumed they couldn’t reconcile the shipment or upload relevant documents.

🦸 Seller community to the rescue

Many sellers quickly sympathized with the OP, having been in similar situations before. They advised OP to keep submitting, opening, and reopening the case until a seller support representative takes charge.

Seller moderators replied and helped escalate the case to relevant teams. They also shared a guide on what to do when shipments are lost for those facing the same issue.

📍 Moral lesson: There’s power in numbers. And joining a seller community makes facing these ecommerce challenges a bit more bearable.

As of this posting, the Amazon team is (re)investigating the case.

ACTIONABLE ADVICE

Boost your holiday sales in 3 smart ways

Want to make your sales merry and bright this holiday season? Well, it might be more challenging than you expect as shoppers are now more careful about spending.

💡 The good news? Stacked Marketer shared 3 easy, smart effective tactics to stand out and boost your holiday sales:

  • Don’t limit your discounts to just one day. Create “holiweeks” or “holimonths” to spread out sales.
    • Why do this: To keep things fresh and enticing to shoppers.
  • Start your promotions early and keep them going after the holiday. For example, if you offer 50% off before Christmas, you can offer 30% off the days after.
    • Why do this: So you can catch shoppers who missed the first round of sales! 🥅
  • While social ads are great, don’t forget about search ads. Many shoppers start their gift search online, especially on search engines.
    • Why do this: Having strong search ads will help you show up where your customers are looking.

Bring joy to your holiday sales

While the holiday rush can be tough, it’s also the perfect time to make your business shine. Keep your customers at the heart of your strategy, and this season could be your best one yet! ✨
