POST OF THE WEEK

AMAZON NEWS

It’s confirmed: Prime Big Deal Days are coming this October!

Amazon recently announced that the second Prime sales event of the year will include 19 countries – Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom, Turkey, and the United States.

Quick seller tips

Prime Big Deal Days may be Amazon’s way to get ahead of the upcoming BFCM shopping rush. To sellers who missed out on July’s Prime Day, this is your chance to get in on the action.

Here are some ways to prepare for the fall event:

  • Check in inventoryRemember to get the FBA inventory in by September 13. If you’re doing FBM, ensure your warehouses are stocked and ready. You may want to check on your label printers too, just in case.
  • Set up dealsSales are the best time to offer exclusive deals, discounts, and lightning deals. You must schedule these AHEAD since some would require Amazon’s approval.
  • Update and optimize your listings. Self explanatory but you may want to add “fall” and fall-related keywords. Seasonal keywords optimize your listings for when users search for seasonal items.

ACTIONABLE ADVICE

How to sell internationally

Thinking about expanding your business across borders? Selling internationally can help you grow your brand, tap into new markets, and boost sales.

But where do you start?

📝 Amazon listed down five simple tips to get you started:

  • Research different markets. Before you dive in, figure out where your products will sell best. Look at local trends, spending habits, and competition.
  • Choose the right products: Not all products will be a hit everywhere. Pick items that fit the local market, and check if they meet the country’s regulations.
  • Sort out shippingShipping overseas can be tricky. Make sure you’ve got a reliable and cost-effective method for getting your products to customers on time.
  • Calculate costs: Don’t forget to factor in extra costs like taxes, duties, and shipping. Make sure you’re still making a profit after all expenses.
  • Optimize listings: Make it easy for customers to find your products. Use clear, local language and adjust prices for different currencies.

🌍 So, should you sell internationally?

Well, it depends. Expanding globally can bring big rewards, but it also comes with challenges like higher costs and complex logistics. So, don’t forget to weigh the pros and cons to decide if it’s the right move for your business.
