One Amazon seller ditched stock photos for AI-generated images, and ended up selling over 10,000 units. No camera, just prompts and clean, on-brand shots.
But before launching on Amazon, they weren’t sure if those images would fly. The seller community chimed in—and the verdict was surprisingly one-sided.

SELLER CONFESSIONS
An Amazon seller (OP) confessed: I made hyper-realistic product images using AI tools. I love how they look, but are they actually good enough for Amazon?
When they first set up their store on CJ and Alibaba, they planned to use stock photos. But as most sellers know, those images often don’t cut it—low quality, inconsistent angles, and definitely not brand-building material.
- Did you know? After describing the background, the tool generated seven crisp, aesthetic product shots that preserved the label design and looked clean across multiple angles. All without touching a camera.
The results were impressive. But as they were planning to enter Amazon, OP is unsure: Will these actually hold up on an Amazon storefront?
Other sellers weigh in
Turns out, the OP isn’t alone—far from it. A wave of sellers chimed in, and most had already embraced AI in their workflows.
- One seller casually mentioned selling over 10,000 products last year using only AI-generated images.
- Another pointed out that Shopify and Amazon even have their own AI tools, though they’re more limited—no resizing or repositioning like third-party apps offer.
- Others warned about common pitfalls. AI struggles when you introduce human elements—like hands, fingers, or models holding a product. The rendering often breaks with weird shadows, awkward poses, or unnatural occlusions, which could get your listing flagged.
Still, the consensus was clear: AI is fair game, especially for secondary images. Just make sure your main image is sharp, compliant, and ideally created with pro rendering or photography.
Is it worth trying?
If you're launching on a tight budget, absolutely. AI lets you skip the pricey photoshoots while still leveling up your brand presentation. Just don’t forget—Amazon loves clean, clear, compliant main images, so keep that one extra polished

THOUGHT OF THE DAY
Don’t be afraid to experiment with AI-generated images, but remember: your customers connect with authenticity. Use AI to enhance your presentation, not to obscure the real value behind your product.
