Amazon’s drone delivery hit a rainy snag, literally. Their drones mistook raindrops for landing spots, shutting down mid-air and crashing from 200+ feet. Turns out, relying on software over old-school sensors isn’t always foolproof.
Still, Bezos’ flying package dreams keep soaring (just more cautiously) as tests resume in a few U.S. cities.

BLACK MARKET
Temu may be winning over bargain hunters, but in South Korea, it just got slapped with a $970K fine for quietly transferring user data overseas.
The Korea Herald reported that South Korea’s Personal Information Protection Commission (PIPC) found Temu guilty of violating the country’s Personal Information Protection Act.
❌ What went wrong?
- Undisclosed data transfers.Temu sent user data to China and Singapore but failed to disclose this in its privacy policy. 🤐
- Poor data management. Temu also outsourced data handling to businesses in multiple countries, but didn’t bother with privacy training or oversight.
- No local representative. Despite serving nearly 3 million Korean users daily, Temu never appointed a domestic agent, which is mandatory for companies handling sensitive personal info. 🧑💼
- Cancellation friction. Users had to complete a tedious seven-step process just to delete their accounts. That kind of friction doesn’t fly with regulators—or shoppers.

AMAZON NEWS
Amazon adds FedEx to the delivery dream team

After cutting its package volume with UPS by over 50%, Amazon has signed a new multi-year deal with FedEx to assist with last-mile delivery in the U.S., according to FOX Business Network.
🚚 FedEx brings serious muscle
FedEx will now deliver select Amazon packages—particularly large and heavy ones—directly to customers’ doors.
- More hands on deck. This new partnership joins USPS and UPS as part of Amazon’s third-party delivery roster, working alongside its own in-house network.
- Cheaper shipping ahead. Amazon expects “cost favorability” with FedEx compared to UPS.
- Big-box friendly. With coverage across every ZIP code in the U.S. and a specialty in handling large, bulky parcels, FedEx is positioning itself as a strong logistics ally.
The company says the new business will increase average package weight and boost overall yield.
🔍 What to watch
If your products lean big and bulky, this could be good news. Keep an eye on any changes to shipping fees or delivery speeds—especially if your inventory is in Amazon’s fulfillment network.
A more diversified delivery mix might mean smoother logistics come peak season.

New “Send to Amazon” features help cut costs and confusion

Amazon just updated its Send to Amazon workflow with two powerful upgrades—both designed to cut confusion and potentially lower your shipping costs. Whether you're shipping domestically or internationally, here's what’s new:
- Amazon-optimized splits preview. You’ll now see if your shipment qualifies for Amazon-optimized splits (fewer fulfillment centers means lower placement fees) before you finish creating it.
- Requirements for individual units, case packs, and pallet templates are clearly displayed.
- Estimated cost preview. On Step 2: Confirm Shipping, Amazon now shows an estimated total cost for:
- FBA inbound placement fees
- Shipping (based on Partner Carrier Program (PCP) or SEND rates)
Bonus: For U.S. shipments, Amazon automatically compares small parcels vs. less-than-truckload and pre-selects the cheaper option for you.
📌 Quick note
You’re not charged unless you go through with the PCP option. These rates are for visibility and planning, not locked-in commitments.
Have you tried the new workflow yet? We’d love to hear how it’s working for you.
