Account at risk over a shipping error sellers can't find

By SellerBites
February 13, 2026

Everybody loves surprises… until it’s a violation warning from Amazon.

Even worse? It’s vague, cryptic, and you have no clue what to fix.

  • Turn clicks into $350K in sales 💸
  • Warning issued. Violation unknown. ⚠️
  • Big spring sale could hit March 25 🛍️
  • Amazon changes transaction reports 📊

BLACK MARKET

You know that mini heart attack when you see a performance notification?

Now imagine it says: fix a shipping discrepancy in 7 days or risk deactivation… except you can’t actually find anything wrong.

That’s what some sellers reported after receiving a sudden shipping discrepancy notice flagged by Amazon.

📦 What needs fixing

According to EcommerceBytes, Amazon told sellers their listed U.S. ship-from address didn’t match their “actual” shipping origin.

  • Verify ship-from address: Check the Locations section and confirm the correct shipping origin.
  • Update shipping templates: Make sure templates reflect the real ship-from location.
  • Confirm ship-from when buying labels: Always select the correct origin before confirming shipment.
  • Fix delivery estimates: Adjust transit times if not using automated shipping settings.

Standard compliance checklist stuff… but here’s where it gets weird.

  • No actual changes: Some have shipped from the same U.S. address for years.
  • No clear discrepancy shown: Accounts were flagged without specifics.
  • Technical loop: The “Reactivate” button reportedly goes in circles.
  • Silence from support: Sellers tagged moderators but got no clarification.

One seller basically summed up the mood: If we broke a rule, fine. But tell us which one.

📌 High stakes, low clarity

Shipping origin accuracy impacts delivery promises, account trust, and your ability to sell on Amazon, so yes, it matters.

But a vague deactivation countdown? That’s next-level pressure. Even if it’s a glitch, a clean paper trail saves time later. With account health, “probably a system error” isn’t exactly reassuring.

An award-winning beauty brand did everything right on Amazon. Good product, Good reviews. Good pricing.

But, they were still buried in the rankings.

Grace & Stella, hyper-focused on driving demand, partnered with Levanta. They tapped into affiliate partners who sent qualified, high-intent shoppers directly to Amazon. When those clicks converted, Amazon rewarded the listing.

In 90 days, the results were case-study gold:

  • $350,000+ in affiliate-driven sales
  • 362,384 external product clicks
  • BSR soared from #520 to #28 in Beauty & Personal Care

External traffic has always influenced rank. Most brands just don't get to see how.

Levanta’s new Best Seller Rank report connects Amazon Attribution sales with BSR over time, so brands can finally understand:

  • When rankings changed
  • Which products moved
  • How external traffic contributed

Grace & Stella wrote the playbook. Now it’s time to track it live in Levanta.

BITES OF THE WEEK

Amazon’s Big Spring Sale might be coming!

Amazon hasn’t officially announced it yet, but leaks in Seller Central hint that the Big Spring Sale is returning soon.

According to ZDNET, early intel points to March 25–31, 2026, with deal submissions already open inside Seller Central.

👀 Inside Seller Central

Here’s what sellers are seeing:

  • Rumored sale dates: March 25–31, 2026
  • Deal submission deadline: March 24, 2026
  • Lightning Deals and promos: Some products are already flagged as eligible
  • Focus categories: Outdoor & garden, home, beauty & fashion, pets, and travel

Amazon hasn’t confirmed yet, but similar timing played out in 2024 and 2025, so history is a pretty solid clue.

⚡ How to prep now

This isn’t Prime Day, but don’t underestimate it:

  • Multi-day event leads to more sustained traffic
  • Not Prime-exclusive means wider buyer pool
  • Competing retailers often run overlapping sales
  • Seasonal categories usually get the biggest lift

Now’s the time to:

  • Lock in deals before the March 24 submission cutoff
  • Check inventory to avoid mid-event stockouts
  • Prep ad budgets, competition ramps up fast
  • Tighten pricing and margins ahead of promo stacking

The Big Spring Sale sets early-year momentum. Nail it, and Q2 starts strong. Miss it? Competitors scoop up seasonal demand while you watch.

Big reporting update hits Amazon sellers

Starting February 28, 2026, Amazon is restructuring how Transaction and Summary Reports are generated, and it directly impacts 1099-K reporting for sellers in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Brazil.

📊 What’s changing

Here’s the scoop:

  • Report organization: By transaction posting date, not payout date
  • Deferred transactions included: Reserves, chargebacks, and delayed settlements
  • New columns: Transaction Status & Release Date
  • New report structure: Effective as early as January 1, 2025

🧾 Why this helps with 1099-K

The IRS wants gross sales reported by transaction date, not payout date. This update aligns Amazon reporting with tax rules.

Other benefits:

  • Accrual clarity: Easier reconciliation with QuickBooks, NetSuite, and similar tools
  • Deferred visibility: Understand why reported revenue and actual cash don’t always line up
  • Integration impact: Third-party accounting tools or BI scripts may need remapping
  • Workflow shift: Month-end closes may need to switch from payout-based to transaction-based

This compliance-focused update improves long-term accuracy, but if your bookkeeping has been on autopilot, a manual check now could save headaches later.
