Amazon Haul debuts in the US

By SellerBites
November 15, 2024

As inflation hit a “four-decade high” over the past years, fraud, theft, and shoplifting incidents rose among physical stores. Hence, retailers are forced to literally lock away high-value items like medications and cosmetics.

What others view as an unfortunate situation was an opportunity for Amazon, which then marketed Amazon Pharmacy as a “digital alternative.”

But this isn’t the biggest 2024 move from the retailer. Read on to know what is. 👇

  • Amazon Haul is here! 🛒
  • Partner with one of the most trusted ecommerce retailers 🤝
  • Be a social commerce winner 👑

AMAZON NEWS

Earlier this year, talks of an Amazon low-priced storefront became a hot topic among ecommerce players and experts. And recently, CNBC confirmed that it’s finally happening (despite experts saying it’s a bad idea).

ICYDK, Amazon just launched Amazon Haul (beta). As promised, product offerings are priced at $20 or less. There’s even free shipping and returns for eligible orders!

👀 The deets

Here are the perks and caveats of the new storefront.

  • Ultra-low prices, with most items priced at $10.
  • Purchases are covered by Amazon’s A-to-z Guarantee. This ensures that items are safe, authentic, and in the expected condition.
  • Free shipping on orders above $25.
    • There will be a $3.99 delivery fee for orders under $25.
  • Free returns on all Amazon Haul purchases over $3 within 15 days of delivery.
    • Items worth $3 and below are not eligible for returns.
  • The beta version is accessible in the U.S. via Amazon’s shopping app and mobile website.
  • Shipping can take up to 2 weeks or more, depending on logistics conditions and customers’ location.

🆕 A ‘new’ Amazon?

Amazon Haul is definitely different from the Amazon we know. For starters, it’s abandoning the fast delivery it’s known for. Besides, “haul” is based on the idea that shoppers are willing to wait longer to save money on their orders.

Another thing, Amazon Haul will import each item directly from manufacturers in China—the same as Shein and Temu. This is contrary to inviting more 3P sellers to diversify their catalog.
