Amazon shuts down its failed Instagram clone

By SellerBites
June 13, 2025

Superman is landing early—and Amazon Prime members get front-row seats. In a surprise collab with DC Studios, Amazon is letting U.S. members snag exclusive early screening tickets for James Gunn’s Superman three days before its national release.

Meanwhile, back in the marketplace…

  • Amazon scraps its social content experiment 📉
  • Toronto gets bold with a seller-first summit 💥
  • Early access opens for Amazon’s biggest seller event 🗓️
  • 3 tools to solve your selling problems 🛠️

TRENDING TOPIC

Amazon just confirmed it’s shutting down its Posts program—its short-lived attempt at bringing lifestyle content to the marketplace. According to Adweek, the move comes after the feature failed to catch fire with shoppers or advertisers.

Translation: No one cared, and Amazon’s finally done pretending otherwise.

💥 What’s happening

Posts’ impressions tanked, engagement was weak, and advertisers saw little ROI

  • June 3: Amazon officially began deprecating the program.
  • June 16: Last day to create new Posts
  • July 31: Full shutdown

Note: The API is already closed to new users.

⏭️ On to the next one

But Amazon says don’t worry, something better is coming.

  • The retail giant is rolling out a redesign of its Search and Detail pages.
  • It's actively testing fresh creative formats.

Posts may be toast, but Amazon’s still tinkering with ways to make brand content look sharp and sell better.

🏆 A win for ALL

One less distraction from what actually moves the needle: Sponsored Brands, high-converting creative, and smart PPC.

The big lesson? Amazon isn’t Instagram. Stop chasing “likes.” Start chasing purchase intent.

Finally — An Ecommerce Summit that Gets It

Let’s be real: most conferences are built for clout-chasers, not brand builders.

Toronto Summit: Be Bold flips that on its head.

It’s Canada’s only ecommerce event actually designed for founders, operators, and marketers doing the work — not just talking about it.

No 45-minute monologues about “the power of community.”

No pay-to-play panels.

Just raw, tactical insight from brands you actually care about — like BOOM! by Cindy Joseph, Vessi, David’s Tea, and Mid-Day Squares.

🧠 20+ hours of straight-up strategy
☕ Real convos over coffee (not just networking theater)
🚀 Tactics to help you scale what you’ve already built

The vibe? Less “thought leadership,” more “how we actually did it.”

P.S. It's happening September 23–24 in Toronto. Mark it down.

The 3-tool fix for your worst Amazon headaches

Stock running dry? Ads eating your margins? Reviews stuck in neutral? You’re not alone, and you're not out of options.

Seller Labs just mapped out how to turn those headaches into wins by pairing Amazon’s expansive toolkit with smart strategy and the right supporting software.

  • Constant stockouts
    • Fix: Supply Chain by Amazon + a forecasting tool that tracks SKU-level demand
    • How does it work: Amazon’s freight-to-FBA pipeline handles logistics, while smart forecasting software helps you plan what to reorder and when.
  • Ad spend with no return
    • Fix: Amazon Ads + an ad optimization platform
    • How does it work: Tracks keyword performance, automates bidding rules, and reallocates budget toward top-performing campaigns.
  • Low reviews, low trust
    • Fix: Brand Registry + a review automation tool
    • How does it work: Sends custom review requests and follow-up emails triggered by order delivery or buyer behavior.

💡 The strategy shift

It’s not about doing more, it’s about doing smarter. Sellers combining Amazon’s infrastructure with tailored tools are scaling faster and stressing less.Automate the boring. Optimize the rest.
