ICYMI: Amazon will have a faster, more proactive reimbursement policy

Want to know how much Amazon is worth now?

We do! That’s why we plan to tune in to the live conference it’ll hold at 2:30 PM (PT) on August 1, where the company will reveal how much it earned in Q2. If you’re interested, here’s the announcement link (where updates could be posted).

But for now, let’s dive into other Amazon stuff you can use to elevate your business.

  • Amazon Prime Day trends for the holidays ☃️

AMAZON NEWS

Great news, sellers!

Amazon just announced updates on reimbursement claims, including automation and eligibility windows. In the company’s own words:

“Almost all reimbursement claims related to warehouse lost and damaged and customer returns cases will now be proactively reimbursed.”

If you have lost or damaged inventory and did not receive an automatic reimbursement, you can file claims manually.

🗓️ Here are the key dates to remember:

Starting October 23

The updated eligibility windows for manual reimbursement claims will be updated, along with the FBA inventory reimbursement policy.

  • You have 60 days to file a fulfillment center operations claim from the day an item is reported lost or damaged in the fulfillment center.
  • You can submit an FBA customer returns claim 60–120 days after the customer's refund or replacement date. This gives buyers enough time to return the order and Amazon to process the returns.
  • Submit a removal claim for items lost in transit 15-75 days from the shipment creation date.
  • All other claims must be filed within 60 days of the shipment being delivered to you.

Starting November 1

Automated reimbursements will take effect. Amazon will issue the reimbursement as soon as an item is reported as lost by the fulfillment center.

📍 Good news aside, you should still track all your reimbursements transactions to make sure everything lines up. You can do so by regularly checking the Reimbursements report on Seller Central.
