BIG IDEA
Short answer: yes (if your product is that good).
Marketplace Pulse reported that over 800 Amazon sellers are pulling in more than $1M a year with just one SKU. And 19 of them? They’ve cracked the $10M mark from a single listing.
🎯 The power of focus
Amazon’s U.S. marketplace is home to about 50,000 million-dollar sellers, and only 1.6% of them make it with one SKU. That’s 0.15% of all U.S. sellers. In other words: unicorn status. 💎
- Hero Cosmetics. They started with just the Mighty Patch, which became Amazon’s top beauty product, and it grew into a $630M exit.
- China advantage. About 75% of single-product millionaires are based in China, where low-cost supply chains, export subsidies, and manufacturing proximity give them an edge.
BUT some “single-product” millionaires aren’t as single as they seem.
- Smart hedge move. Research shows a chunk of them also sell other products directly to Amazon as 1P sellers, while keeping their marketplace focus on that one hero SKU.
⚠️ The single-point risk
Here’s the catch: single-product sellers trade simplicity for fragility.
- An algorithm tweak,
- A competitor launch,
- Or a supply chain hiccup…
…and suddenly your million-dollar listing is toast. That’s why nearly half of these single-SKU millionaires are stuck in the $1–2M range, they either diversify or risk disappearing.

BLACK MARKET
$2M fake Nintendo ring busted on Amazon

What looked like a regular warehouse in New York was actually a counterfeit hub churning out fake Nintendo gear.
According to NBC New York, an Amazon seller had been pushing thousands of bogus Switch docks, adapters, and Pokémon Go accessories—worth over $2M—since 2018.
🎮 Breaking down the lies
- Red flags: Amazon spotted unusually high return rates and complaints.
- Confirmed fakes: Amazon teamed up with Nintendo to verify the products were counterfeit.
- Big scale: Five Amazon storefronts, like PandaVida Inc. and Zuzu Cares 4 U, were tied back to one NY warehouse.
- Serious risks: Prosecutors warned counterfeit electronics can spark fires or cause injuries. And since these were marketed to kids? Extra disturbing.
Nintendo’s been fighting this war for years. Just last year, they won a $2M settlement against a seller of Switch modchips and flashcarts (Twisted Voxel).
Fake gaming gear is nothing new, but this case highlights how big the stakes are.
🛑 Amazon's no-fakes policy
Amazon responded with its usual playbook:
- Removed the counterfeit listings,
- Banned the accounts,
- Refunded customers.
In their words: zero tolerance.
For legit sellers, it’s a reminder: compliance and authenticity checks aren’t optional, they’re survival. ⚠️
